Nailed It
"Carrying a majority of the popular vote, Obama did especially well among women and young voters, who polls showed were particularly sensitive to the current climate of everything being fucked. [ . . .] Citizens with eyes, ears, and the ability to wake up and realize what truly matters in the end are also believed to have played a crucial role in Tuesday's election."

I find your views interesting, but I still maintain that a one-party-in-power switch every so often isn't the answer. The Democrat philosophy is flawed; I fully admit that the Republican philosophy is flawed as well.
That said, there are good things that will come out of the Obama election, to be sure, the most significant of which is that there can be no doubt that racism is no longer a major barrier in the United States. Are there still racists? I'm sure there are, and of all colors. But this election is the final nail in the coffin on the argument that Whitey is determined to keep the Black man down, and it may even help show some of the still-unenlightened how neanderthal their prejudice is. And I say cheers to that, regardless of how deeply I disagree with Obama's individual policies. Take care.
MM didn't get the joke?

The Onion is so funny. The first time I sent my dad a link to an Onion story, he wrote back "Is it real??" There should be a special disclaimer for seniors.
